Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 7, 2026
Last Updated: July 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy is issued by Pax Sophos LLC, doing business as Grocery Rate. Grocery Rate is the entity responsible for this website and for the personal information described below. In this Policy, “Grocery Rate,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Pax Sophos LLC d/b/a Grocery Rate.
1. Introduction and Scope
Grocery Rate respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use and disclose it, the choices available to you, and the rights you may have under applicable United States privacy laws.
This Policy applies to personal information we collect through this website and through related sales, marketing, and communication activities. It does not apply to information collected offline or through channels other than this website; to the websites, products, or services of any third party, including our banking, technology, and payment-processing partners, even where this website links to them; or to payment-card account data or cardholder transaction data processed within the payment networks, which is handled by the applicable financial institutions and payment processors under their own agreements and under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (“PCI-DSS”).
Who we are. Grocery Rate operates a merchant-processing transparency service for independent grocery retailers in the United States. We act as an independent sales agent that helps eligible U.S. businesses evaluate and obtain payment-processing services provided by third-party banks and payment processors. We are not a bank, and we are not a payment network. This website is directed to businesses located in the United States and to the individuals who represent them.
2. Information We Collect
Grocery Rate collects personal information that you provide to us directly, information that is collected automatically when you use this website, and information we receive from third parties. We collect only the categories of information described below.
Information you provide directly. This includes:
• Identifiers and contact details — name, business name, job title or role, email address, telephone number, and mailing or business address.
• Professional and commercial information — the name and type of the business you represent, your role at that business (for example, owner, controller, chief financial officer, chief operating officer, or operations director), and general information about that business’s payment-processing needs.
• Lead-form and inquiry information — information you submit through contact forms, request-a-quote forms, scheduling tools, or similar features, including any message content you choose to send us.
• Newsletter and subscription information — the email address and any preferences you provide when you subscribe to our email newsletter or other communications.
• Communications — records and copies of your correspondence with us, including emails and messages you send through this website.
We do not request or knowingly collect payment-card numbers, bank-account numbers, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive financial account credentials through this website. Please do not submit such information to us through website forms or email.
Information collected automatically. When you visit this website, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information about your device and browsing activity using cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies. This may include your IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and language settings; pages viewed, links clicked, referring and exit pages, and dates and times of visits; and data collected through analytics providers and advertising pixels or tags that help us understand website performance and measure and deliver marketing, including on third-party platforms. Please see the section on Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising Technologies below for details and your choices.
Information from third parties. We may receive limited business-contact information about you or the business you represent from analytics and advertising platforms, referral and affiliate partners, and publicly available or commercially available business-information sources. We use this information consistent with this Policy and applicable law.
3. How We Use Personal Information
Grocery Rate uses personal information for the following business purposes:
• To respond to your inquiries, quote requests, and other communications, and to provide the information or services you request;
• To evaluate whether a business may be eligible for the payment-processing services offered by our third-party partners, and to facilitate an introduction or application on your behalf;
• To operate, maintain, secure, and improve this website and our services;
• To send you our newsletter, service updates, and marketing communications, subject to your right to opt out;
• To analyze website usage and measure the effectiveness of our content and marketing;
• To prevent fraud and abuse, to protect the security and integrity of our systems, and to enforce our terms;
• To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal process, and the rules and requirements applicable to us as a sales agent in the payment-processing industry; and
• For any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect the information or with your consent.
4. How We Disclose Personal Information
Grocery Rate does not sell your personal information for money. We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:
• Payment-processing and banking partners. When you ask us to help you obtain payment-processing services, we share the business and contact information necessary to evaluate eligibility and facilitate an application with the third-party banks, payment processors, and technology providers that actually provide those services. Those parties handle your information under their own agreements and privacy practices.
• Service providers. We share information with vendors that perform services on our behalf, such as website hosting, customer-relationship management, email delivery, analytics, and marketing. These providers are permitted to use the information only to perform services for us.
• Advertising and analytics partners. We share certain online-activity information with analytics and advertising partners. Depending on your jurisdiction, some of this activity may be considered “sharing” or a “sale” under applicable law, and you may opt out as described below.
• Legal and safety disclosures. We may disclose information when required by law or legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, respond to lawful requests from public authorities, protect our rights or property, protect the safety of any person, or investigate fraud or security incidents.
• Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, sale of assets, or similar transaction, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
• With your direction or consent. We may disclose information for any other purpose with your consent or at your direction.
5. Categories of Information and Disclosure
This section summarizes the categories of personal information Grocery Rate collects, how we use each category, and the categories of recipients to whom we disclose that information for a business purpose. These categories are described using the framework of the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”), as amended, though this summary is provided for the benefit of all users.
• Identifiers (such as name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, and IP address) — used to respond to inquiries, facilitate processing applications, deliver marketing, and secure the website; disclosed to payment-processing and banking partners, service providers, and advertising and analytics partners.

• Commercial information (such as services of interest and inquiry content) — used to provide requested services and maintain records; disclosed to payment-processing and banking partners and service providers.
• Internet or network activity (such as usage data, analytics data, and information collected through pixels) — used for analytics, website improvement, and marketing measurement; disclosed to analytics and advertising partners and service providers.
• Inferences (such as likely interests or service needs) — used to tailor content and marketing; disclosed to service providers.
We do not knowingly collect the special categories of “sensitive personal information” defined under U.S. state privacy laws (such as government identifiers, precise geolocation, or financial account log-in credentials) through this website, and we do not use or disclose such information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you.
6. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on where you reside and subject to applicable law, you may have some or all of the following rights with respect to personal information Grocery Rate holds about you:
• Right to know or access — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed it.
• Right to delete — request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
• Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
• Right to opt out of sale or sharing — direct us not to “sell” or “share” your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, to the extent our advertising and analytics practices are deemed a sale or sharing under applicable law.
• Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
How to exercise your rights. You may submit a rights request by emailing us at the address in the “How to Contact Us” section below. We will verify your request by confirming information we already maintain, such as your name and email address, before responding. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf where permitted by law; we may require proof of the agent’s authority. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
Opting out of marketing. You may opt out of our marketing emails and newsletter at any time by using the “unsubscribe” link in any such message or by contacting us directly. Transactional or relationship messages necessary to respond to your requests are not marketing communications.
7. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising Technologies
Grocery Rate uses cookies and similar technologies to operate this website, remember your preferences, analyze traffic, and measure and support our marketing. These include strictly necessary technologies required for the website to function; analytics technologies that help us understand how visitors use the website; and advertising and measurement technologies, including third-party pixels and tags, that help us measure and deliver marketing, including on third-party platforms.
Your choices. Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Some platforms offer their own opt-out or ad-preference tools. We also honor the Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) browser signal where required by law; when we detect a GPC signal, we will treat it as a valid request to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for that browser to the extent required by applicable law. Because some advertising and analytics activity may qualify as “sharing” or a “sale” under U.S. state privacy laws, the opt-out rights described above also apply to these technologies.
8. Data Retention
Grocery Rate retains personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide the services you request, to maintain business records, to comply with our legal and industry obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. When personal information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, de-identify, or securely store it.
9. How We Protect Your Information
Grocery Rate maintains reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping any credentials you use in connection with our services confidential and for using secure networks when transmitting information to us.
10. Children’s Privacy
This website is intended for businesses and the adults who represent them. It is not directed to children, and Grocery Rate does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. Third-Party Websites and Services
This website may contain links to third-party websites, applications, and services, including those of our payment-processing and technology partners. Grocery Rate is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of every website and service you visit. This Policy applies only to information collected by us through this website.

This Privacy Policy and any dispute arising out of or relating to it are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, except where a mandatory consumer-protection law of another U.S. state applies to you and provides you with rights described in this Policy.
